MOON VALLEY
An Otherworldly Landscape in the Heart of the Desert
2:30 PM – 3:10 PM | Hotel Pickup
We will begin the tour by picking up participants from their accommodations in San Pedro de Atacama before heading toward the Salt Mountain Range.
3:30 PM | Entrance to Moon Valley
Arrival at the protected area and introduction to the tour by the guide, who will share information about the geological history, flora, and wildlife of the region.
Viewpoints and Geological Formations
We will visit some of the valley’s most remarkable locations, where short walks will allow us to admire impressive formations of salt, rock, and sand shaped over millions of years by wind and water erosion.
Great Dune
Time to explore one of the most iconic dunes in the Atacama Desert and enjoy panoramic views of the Salt Mountain Range and the surrounding landscapes.
Kari Viewpoint (Coyote Stone)
We will arrive at one of the most famous viewpoints in San Pedro de Atacama, offering breathtaking views of the valley and the vastness of the desert.
Sunset in the Desert
Enjoy a spectacular sunset as the colors of the landscape gradually transform, creating a unique natural show in one of Atacama’s most iconic locations.
Approximately 7:30 PM | Return to San Pedro de Atacama
At the end of the tour, we will return to town, arriving in downtown San Pedro de Atacama after the activity concludes.
